Your Questions Answered: What
is NLP? NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. It was devised by Richard Bandler and John Grindler. The principle is that humans share the same neurology and therefore the same potential to behave in certain ways. All behaviour has a structure and this can be learnt and changed. Think of the payback if you could tap unlimited self-confidence at any time. NLP could help you overcome mental blocks. If you are an athlete or sports performer NLP will help you to achieve optimum performance on the day of competition and overcome mental blocks against certain opponents, raising your game to a higher level. If you are in business NLP can help you achieve great performance in potentially difficult meetings, and manage your own state so that you can get great results. What is the format of a session? Our techniques are aimed to fix the behaviour in a one or two stop session. The starting point is that our own beliefs underpin our behaviour and our ideas about what is possible. We are going to install new empowering beliefs and let go of old beliefs that may be holding you back. The sessions are focused on solutions, so after an introductory chat, we spend little or no time talking about the old problem. You will learn to change the way you think so that you can choose to run empowering thought patterns at will. This is the way to open up a bright future, full of options and possibilities. The techniques used are those taught in NLP and cognitive psychology. This system means that these simple techniques are your tools for life. Once learnt you will be able to use them at will, away from the sessions. I've already talked about my problem in therapy, I don't want to talk about it endlessly? Because this technique is solution focused, we spend 80% of our time working on the solution. The problem may be outlined in discussion although the details are not necessary. This means you can change behaviour and beliefs at any time in your life, creating for yourself a wider range of choices and flexibility. A Life coach is a combination of a mentor who believes in you and help you set bigger goals for yourself; a manager to help identify the actions as we work towards the goal; a coach who can offer insights and feedback to help you improve and keep moving towards success. What is the format of Coaching? We will work together typically once a week over a 3 month period coaching structure, for one hour per week by phone or in person. You can change beliefs
that have held you back in the past. What is a Certified NLP Practitioner? Certification is achieved after attending training with Richard Bandler. The qualification is renewed annually based on a requirement to demonstrate that the Practitioner is using NLP techniques on a regular basis and is keeping up to date with the latest advances and developments. How is this different from psychotherapy? This type of coaching is very different from psychotherapy. The focus in counselling is often on past history and how it relates to the individual's development. We will focus on the future and equip you to move away from old problems. We will acknowledge any issues and focus skill development so you can find new strategies and solutions that benefit the client in achieving their goals and becoming more fulfilled and better equipped to meet life's daily challenges. Coaching helps the individual learn new behaviour and habits and even new ways of thinking to overcome areas of difficulties. home
